"Lab-on-a-chip" - A revolutionary milestone in biotechnology

The duplication of DNA sequences with the polymerase chain reaction has become an indispensable tool in the fields of molecular biology, gene sequencing, and clinical research. A research project was conducted, which was successful in drastically reducing thermal capacities and volumes, thus accelerating the required cooling/heating process. This miniaturized, fast lab-on-a-chip PCR system is based on the "plug-flow" principle. The processing of the various PCR protocols relating to sample transport, number of cycles, temperature ramping, dwelling time in each temperature zone, and, of course, the temperature of each zone can be controlled very simply using "biOS Workbench" programming software from infoteam.
