
The GENESIS Series of Robotic Sample Processors (RSP´s) combines the highest standards of liquid handling capabilities with powerful new abilities. Transport of reaction containers by the Robotic Manipulator (RoMa) arm allows integration with plate washers, readers and a wide range of other devices. GENESIS Series software and hardware is designed for easy integration with other automated systems, building towards a fully automated laboratory.
The GENESIS Series has been designed to bring the highest flexibility to every application. A choice of instruments - the RSP 100, RSP 150 and RSP 200 - provide the same high performance standards but offer a range of worktable sizes to meet the demands of all workloads cost-effectively.

MICROPLATE PIPETTING WITH NO LIMITS
GEMINI is a simple, user-friendly and flexible software package, which can be configured to pipette whatever you need. GEMINI controls TECAN robotic systems for many life science applications including liquid/liquid extraction, enzyme kinetics, hit picking and high throughput screening. GEMINI can be used together with TECAN’s GENESIS Robotic Sample Processor (RSP) for assays using microplates from 6 to 384 wells. Functions that can be programmed into GEMINI include aspirating and dispensing, washing, retrieving and discarding of tips. In all cases, you can select either single or multi-pipetting actions.
You can programme microplate copying, sample mixing, serial dilutions, timers and loops with your own conditions and variables, thanks to a menu-driven interface which offers prompts and commands. You can import data and export results to commonly used laboratory databases and handle worklists. There is an on-line Help function. For liquid handling, GEMINI uses TECAN’s Liquid Class, a new and easy way to set up all liquid handling parameters with just a mouse click. Liquid Classes are groups of optimised parameter sets and are pre-defined for commonly-used liquids including water, DMSO and ethanol. Simply selecting the type of liquid you want to pipette fixes all the correct pipetting parameters for that liquid, be it for single or multi-pipetting procedures. For specialised applications, individual parameters can be adjusted using GEMINI’s Liquid Class Editor.

Automation of the pre-analytical process is receiving an increase in interest from laboratory managers all over the world. Until recently, Total Laboratory Automation (TLA) was the only available solution. However this is only attractive for certain laboratories.
