SummaryIf the point of contact between the product and the people becomes a point of friction, then the industrial designer has failed. If, on the other hand, people are made safer, more comfortable, more eager to purchase, more efficient - or just plain happier – the designer has succeeded. IntroductionWe want to make your products a success! We will introduce a structured methodology of interaction design based on Alan Coopers “About face 3 and has the following Agenda: |
The Interaction FrameworkThe Requirements Definition phase sets the stage for the core of the design effort: defining the interaction framework of the product. The interaction framework defines not only the skeleton of the interaction - its structure - but also the flow and behavior of the product. The following six steps describe the process of defining the interaction framework:

The Requirements Definition phase determines the what of the design: what functions Our personas need to use and what kind of information they must access to accomplish their goals. The following five steps comprise this process:
|
Evaluation of ProjectDiscussion of possible solutions by considering current implementations and identification of the pros and cons of different possibilities. Conclusions and how to proceed |
||
Based on your requirements and the principles of Face 3 the participants will assess how the discussed ideas will be used for the intended project. The group will also prepare draft-working packages. These results will serve as a basis for further decisions on how to proceed. A thorough introduction to the methods and interfaces gives technical insight into the implementation principles. Industrial examples will deliver the basics for the discussion of different alternatives and the sketch of a solution.
