Motion Control Workshop

1.800,00 EUR

(plus tax and Delivery costs)

Articlenumber: B1-1420-MC

Summary

This one day seminar concentrates on manufacturers and users of motion controllers for packaging machines and simple assembling applications. It covers typical single-axis, loosely coupled multi-axis and master/slave applications.
The Workshop is based on the Motion Control Profile as published by PLCopen and intended to supplement the international Standard IEC 61131-3.The trainer is an international recognised computer scientist and has been involved in the definition of the motion control profile since 1997.

AXIS data type

  • AXIS as abstract data type-Principle of passing AXIS data between FBs
  • Execution of FB
  • Error Handling
  • Principles of Motion Control Design using FBs

Single Axis Motion Control

  • State diagram model for axis
  • Point-to-Point Movements
  • Speed controlled movements
  • Housekeeping FBs

Introduction

At a first look, it seems that IEC languages may not solve motion control needs, since motion control is mainly sequential, whereas the IEC languages are preferable used for cyclic programs. Nevertheless, the workshop demonstrates that function block diagrams provide a rewarding methodology for programming motion controllers.

Master / Slave Control

  • Master / Slave Tables
  • Gearing
  • Camming
  • Exception Handling

Evaluation of Project

Discussion of possible solutions by considering current implementtations and identification of the pros and cons of different possibilities.
Conclusions and how to proceed

Benefits

  • get technical insight into the principles of Motion Control with IEC 61131 3
  • have a step by step introduction on how to port MC to infoteam SmartPLC
  • discuss alternatives and elaborate solutions
  • draft working packages
  • obtain a MC Specification

Objective & Method

Based on your requirements and the principles of IEC 61131-3 the participants will assess how the Motion Control Functionblocks will be used for the intended project.
The group will also prepare draft-working packages. These results will serve as a basis for further decisions on how to proceed.
A thorough introduction to the methods and interfaces gives technical insight into the implementation principles of OpenPCS. Practical experiments with an on-site installation of an OpenPCS implementation will deliver the basics for the discussion of different alternatives and the sketch of a solution.
